Choosing a helicopter flight school can be a daunting task and takes time and effort to do the proper research. We, at Brazos, insist that each student, who wants to train here, be satisfied that Brazos is the best choice for their particular situation. Your training costs will be lower at Brazos Helicopters due to your ability to do your advanced training concurrently with other courses. A good example would be doing most of your instrument training while building hours for your commercial instead of splitting these into two separate programs. Though training costs are important to us, we feel that teaching you to fly the helicopter safely, using tried and true maneuvers and techniques, is paramount in preparing you for flying in the helicopter industry. You won't be caught up in instructor's experiments or in illogical non-US based "hype" training techniques. You will thoroughly learn US aviation regulations, weather and weather decision making, aircraft systems and mechanics, all forms of helicopter navigation (including real pilotage), in depth "real life" helicopter aerodynamics, preventative maintenance techniques, "real" off field operations, "real" emergency procedures, and a thorough understanding of each and every flight regime and maneuver. All of this " Real World Training"SM is the heart of Brazos Helicopters' Training Philosophy and is why you will be more than prepared for, not only, that important "first job" but for the rest of your career.
All your training is done in a low-stress, informal manner with ease of scheduling and quick access to training areas and local airports. All our students are on a first name basis and when they are not training, are often "hanging-out talking helicopters" in our spacious and comfortable facilities. Brazos has available to students, an on-line scheduling program and volumes of reference and study materials as handouts.
